Cart Barn

A listed Cart Barn in danger of collapse was rescued and converted into a holiday home. The leaning and subsiding external stone walls were stabilised. The original roof structure, constructed of rustic undersized branches, was too weak to take the weight, leading to sagging and failure. the roof had considerable charm and historic importance. The solution was to create an invisible thin outer structural diaphragm shell, allowing the full glory of the old beam structure to be retained.
