Yew Barns

This was a challenging conversion and extension of an old stone barn and rebuilding an unstable stable block within the rounds of a Grade II listed Farmhouse. The new dwelling for a retired couple retains the original cattle yard, now enclosed to the north with a glass and timber dining hall, the hub of the house connecting the kitchen, living room and bedrooms . The building has an A (92+) energy rating, with PV and Air Source Heat Pump.
Here's what our lovely clients said about the process:
"We gave Richard the challenge of linking 2 barns together on a limited budget. Thankfully, he rose to the challenge. Due to Covid, the process of getting planning permission took a very long time and the project was much delayed. Throughout what could have been a very stressful process, Richard was calm, supportive and successfully managed my madder flights of fancy! He produced creative and stylish solutions to deal with restrictions imposed by planners and we are delighted with our new home. Both we and visitors feel it has the 'wow' factor and it manages to be both practical and comfortable. Thank you, Richard. We are glad we chose you!"
