Fussells Ironworks in Wadbury Valley is a complex repair & conversion project. The ongoing project is to convert the Listed ruins of the old Offices and Timekeepers Building into a residence and thread a new hydro scheme into the ancient waterways. The whole site is Listed and the majority of the works is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. The site is a Special Area of Conservation, an internationally important habitat for endangered Horseshoe Bats. In order to obtain consents we had to satisfy Historic England, Natural England and the Environment agency , as well as the local planning authority, conservation , arboricultural officers and ecologist of the merits of the scheme, not to mention the locals who regularly walked through the ruins and Parish Council.
Other hydro projects - Wallbridge Mill and Iron Mill.
