A 'Janus' garden building facing two ways, a different face and function for each of the owners, a music room for him to hold a collection of several thousand CDs, and a sunny gardening room and potting shed for her. The garden pavilion straddles an old stone wall, facing an existing formal potager to the south and open meadows to the north.
The pavilion uses rubble stone and cedar walls with a re-used clay tiled roof. This harmoniously co-exists with the main listed house (a previous project), while creating a distinct and appropriate modern pavilion. A south facing roof lantern lights the north facing music room throughout the day.
