This self-build project aims to provide an affordable 2 bed home for father and daughter, on a scrap of unused grass verge on a housing estate. To add to the difficulty, two mains sewers run through the centre of the site, necessitating screw piled foundations. With an emphasis on sustainability and low embodied energy, the house is timber framed with no concrete used. The house should achieve an A+ Energy rating combing super-insulation with highly controlled ventilations, Heat Pump and a PV roof. Hopefully the finished house will create a compact, enjoyable and comfortable home environment.
