Wool House

An imposing Country House with a chequered history, was in need of some rethinking. Previous use as a Hotel left the building in a poor state with excessive en-suites, commercial kitchens, regulation hotel fire doors and external fire escape stairs. Our clients wanted to bring the building back into use as a comfortable family home.
We advised on the internal alterations and achieved planning consent to reconfigure the kitchen, partly demolish and extend a neglected 19th century laundry, to create e a warm and sunny open-plan kitchen and dining area, linking an existing guest wing. The extension takes its cue from the strong architectural style and scale of the main house, while maintaining a contemporary feel.
